Underground Lava-type eruption creates sensation in South Tripura

Agartala: Underground lava type eruption at the roadside of Sabroom Sub-Division’s Jalifa village in South Tripura District has triggered sensation among the locals on Friday morning.

As per reports, the soil started flowing out and a white-coloured mud substance was coming out of the ground along with fire and gas.

Local people became scared after seeing lava erupting out on the road and accordingly informed the matter to the Fire extinguishing team and local Police officials.

After getting the information, police and firefighters team rushed to the spot and tried to spray water and foam on the spot but failed to stop the ongoing eruption. The lower portion of two electric pillars on that spot was also burnt in the eruption.

It may be mentioned that with the introduction of water, the white colour mud-like substance became more abundant. However, the firefighters tried their best to keep the fire under control.

Local people in the area claimed that fire, smoke and other materials are running out of the ground in the Sabrrom Sub-Division region in South Tripura.

Although, the firefighters managed to get hold of the situation, but failed to ascertain the exact cause of lava type eruption in the area.

Earlier, a similar kind of incident was reported in Sabroom Sub-Division’s Baishnabpur area of South Tripura District on April 18, 2018.
