Unidentified Miscreants hurl Petrol Bomb in Meghalaya BJP office, FIR lodged

Shillong: Unidentified Miscreants allegedly hurled petrol bombs in the BJP party office at Bivar Road causing minor damages at around midnight hours in Shillong on Sunday.

As per a report, the windows and walls at the party office were burnt. Also, the windows at BJP state headquarters were found broken.

The matter was immediately reported to the police by the nearby local people. Further, the fire tenders also rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.

Meanwhile, Director General of Police Meghalaya, Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills and City SP also rushed to the spot to get hold of the situation.

On the other hand, BJP leaders are suspecting it to be handiworks of the people who against the proposed Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016.

Condemning the act of arson, BJP leader Meghalaya, AL Hek in a press statement stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lodged an FIR with the police, copies of which have been sent to the Chief Minister and Home Minister have urged upon to take stern against the perpetrators of the alleged heinous crime.

“The party also requested the police to ensure that the culprits should not be allowed to go Scott free. The BJP also requested the home department to deploy security personnel in all its offices throughout the state to prevent any untoward incident in near future,” the press statement states further.
