Unruly mob kills one, severely injures another

TANGLA, June 1: Sensation prevailed following the killing of a person and serious injury to other in Cheniapara area under Khoirabari PS by an angry mob on Wednesday. Reportedly, two youths with same me Dharmendra Lal Dev (22), son of Jitendra Lal Dev (55) and Dharmendra Lal Dev (30), son of Jibesh Lal Dhar, a resident of Darbhanga district of Bihar, were present in the village, following which villagers suspected the youths to be child traffickers and mercilessly beat and thrashed both the youths with rods and sticks. The mob also allegedly pulled out the fingerils of the youths. Khoirabari police OC Sasadhar Chowdhury, after getting information of the incident, rushed the spot and rescued the youths and admitted them to Khoirabari CHC, which referred the youths to Mangaldai CHC. But one of the youths, Dharmendra Lal Dev (22) succumbed to his injuries. The local police recovered a burnt bag from the site which had religious items. SDPO Bhergaon, P.Borah also rushed the spot to take stock of the situation. But no arrest was made till the filling of this report. Both the youths hailed from Atahar village and Dipli Chelai village of Darbanga district of Bihar. The villages are under Behri and Bahadurpur PS of Bihar. The youths were priests by profession who arrived a week back by Rangia-Murkongselek BG train. The conscious people of the district have demanded strict action as per law against the persons involved.
