UP man asks wife to build physical relation with tantric, kills her on denial

Agra: Some people are still found to be influenced by superstitions and myths despite science, technology and modernity advancing in the country and the latest instance of insanity shown by a man in Uttar Pradesh is unreal and unlikely. An Aligarh based man, namely Maanpal Singh is convicted of killing his wife Rajni by drowning her in River Ganga.

35-year-old Maanpal is convicted of killing his wife just because she denied having sex with a tantric despite being forced by her husband. The accused, as stated by police, had asked her to build a physical relation with the tantric as according to him, this will make them rich. The tantric, named Santdas Jharkhandi, is from Bihar and has been with Singh from quite some time.

Maanpal’s crime came to light when the deceased Rajni’s brother Rajesh Singh lodged a complaint of her disappearance. He complained that his brother-in-law is the culprit behind Rajni going missing and even accused him of killing his sister by drowning her in Ganga River. Following this complaint, police carried out a search operation in the river with the help of dozens of divers. Her body was finally recovered and this made police to arrest the two accused and investigate further.

On being interrogated by the police, the husband confesses of killing his wife and living his wife to be drowned in the middle of the river. According to the police, as Maanpal is a good swimmer, he took his wife’s body far into the river and left it there so that nobody can find it.

The tantric too is a drug addict and was earlier arrested with 700 grams of heroin along with some of his associates.

Rajni and Maanpal were married for nine years and as alleged by Rajni’s brother Maanpal started taking drugs after coming into contact with the Tantrik.
