Upper Price Limit Of Vehicles For VIPs Fixed, Shillong

Shillong, Aug 8: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Wednesday has fixed the upper price limit for purchasing vehicles for VIPs of the state.

Briefing media persons after A Cabinet meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said, that the price limit for purchase of vehicles for the Governor and Chief Minister has been fixed AT Rs 40 lakh.

“Before this, there was no fixation of the price limit for vehicles for the Governor and Chief Minister. But the present Government felt it was necessary to fix the upper price limit AT Rs 40 lakh,” Tynsong said.

The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that they have decided to enhance the price limit of vehicles of the Deputy Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Chief Secretary from the existing Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

The Deputy Chief Minister further said that they have also enhanced the price limit of the Additional Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police, Principal Secretary, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest from the existing Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.

Tynsong said that the Government also enhanced the price limit of vehicles of the Commissioner Secretary and all officers of the All India Services to Rs 10 lakh while they have enhanced the price limit of vehicles of the Secretary, Deputy Commissioners and IGP to Rs 9 Lakh.

He also said that the government has also enhanced the price limit of vehicles of the Head of Departments to Rs 7.5 lakh. He further said that there is also enhancement of the price limit on the vehicles of district level officers to Rs 7 lakh.
