US couple adopts abandoned baby

GUWAHATI, Jan 1: An American couple, Stephen Michal Strickland and Jennifer Priest Strickland, residents of Alabama, USA sets an example by adopting a two-year-old baby, who was abandoned by her parent.   

Two-year-old Jinki Gupta was reportedly abandoned by her parents because of her cleft lip problem. The baby was surrendered before gaon CWC. After issuance of legally free for adoption order, the NEVARD specialized adoption agency has done her operation at MMC hospital.

Jinki has been operated for cleft lip twice last year.

The American couple after laying their hands on the concerned reports of the baby chose the child and through Children of the World American agency forwarded the matter to CARA. After verification by court, it considered the matter for adoption on December 15, 2016. The passport of Jinki Gupta will be issued on January 26 and she is waiting for her birth certificate.
