‘US Will Send 1,500 More Troops To Middle East’ Says Donald Trump

Washington: US President Donald Trump said on Friday that his country will send about 1,500 additional troops to the Middle East amid escalating tension with Iran. Trump told reporters at the White House that the extra deployment, which is “relatively small number of troops,” is mainly a protective measure, the Xinhau news agency reported. US Acting Secretary of Defence Patrick Shanahan said later in the day that the Pentagon has informed the Congress about the new move. (IANS)
