Vanamahtsava 69 underway at Rani  in Kamrup district

Azara, July 1 : The week-long Vanamahtsava 69 centrally organized by the State government got underway with the inaugural function being held today at Jorasal reserved forest, Garo Para at Rani in Kamrup district. Inaugurating the function, Assam Forest Minister Parimal Suklavaidya urged everyone to protect forest in the fight against global warming. He also said that those involved in the destruction of nature would be brought to book and the needful measures taken. He also said that in each of the 126 constituencies of the state, one village would be selected where the department would undertake the mission of planting 1000 saplings while awareness campaign would be launched against the use of plastic

Minister of State for Forest Naba Kr Doley who also attended the function reminded the people about the dream of the Chief Minister of developing a pollution free Assam and appealed to all to extend a hand of cooperation On the other hand, Media Adviser to the Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami said that other than planting trees and protecting nature, there is no other alternative in the matter of saving planet earth.
