Varsity Week begins at Bodoland University on colourful note

KOKRAJHAR, February 4: The 16th varsity week (observed as Thulunga Festival) of Bodoland University (BU) began on Thursday and it will continue till February 9.

Dr Hare Krish Sahoo hoisted the flag of the BU Students’ Union in the varsity week. The Deputy Chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary, who is also the in-charge of Education department iugurated the 16th varsity week. Borgoyary, who attended the function as the chief guest, said that the students of Bodoland University should concentrate on utilizing their talent during the varsity week along with their educatiol career. He emphasized qualitative education saying that the BTC had been extending various support to the meritorious students of the region. He also said the council was trying to develop the educatiol scerio and higher education.

Hemanta Barua, Vice Chancellor of the University, said the other co-curriculum activities should go hand-in-hand and participation of students in the social activities was important for building a strong tion. He urged the students to work and to educate the underprivileged sections of the people. Dr. Shekhar Brahma, Registrar of BU, said the concluding ceremony would be graced by State Education Minister Sarat Borkotoky as chief guest on February 9.
