KOKRAJHAR, February 9: The varsity week (Thulunga Festival, 2016) of the Bodoland University (BU) which got underway from February 3 concluded on Tuesday with various attractive programmes.
A spectacular cultural procession was carried out today where the students showcased the ethnic traditions of different communities and an awareness was also generated through the procession on different anti-social activities like dowry, witch-hunting.
Arunjoy Basumatary, general secretary of the student body of BU, said the procession which was brought out by the students in the festival would send a good message to people. He said the students tried to bring social awareness on the prevailing dowry system, witch hunting, smoking, consumption of alcohol and cleanliness. He also said the students also showcased the commul harmony, peaceful co-existence and tiol integrity.
