GUWAHATI: Ved Aditya Kalita of India Club clinched double crown in 21st India Club open Anup Lahoty Memorial Tennis Championship 2019 which concluded at the India club premises today. In the closing ceremony Abani Baruah and Biswadeep Bora, President and Secretary General of India Club, former player Shankar Datta Lahkar, Anupam Chowdhury and Bijon Choudhuri gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up. Roushni Bhardwaj and Parthiv Kalita were adjudged most promising players in girls and boys section respectively.
Final Results- Girls under 14 years: Tanishqa Patar defeated Namrata Das (6-2, (1-6), 6-2). Girls under 18 years: Ishika Chakma defeated Tania Kumari (6-0, 6-0). Boys under 12 years: Ved Aditya Kalita defeated Aryan Bora (7-6(7-5), 2-6, 7-6 (7-4).Boy’s under 14 years: Ved Aditya Kalita defeated Pritam Baruah (7-6(7-4), 6-4). Boy’s under 18 years: Tushar Paul defeated Arunesh Bora (6-3, 6-4). Gentlemen’s Doubles: Tutu Thapa and Sudhansu Mahanti defeated Manash Kuli and Bedabrata Mohan (6-4,6-3).Senior Gentlemen’s doubles (Above 35 Years):Shiv Kumar Prajapati and Rajesh Baruah Defeated Ashish Agarwala and Rajeeb Kumar Bora (9-2). Mixed doubles (Above 35 Years): Priyanuj Dutta Lahkar and Runumee Das defeated Deepjyoti Baruah and Sunumoni Barkataky (9-2). Gentlemen’s Veteran doubles (Above 45 Years): Subhashis Dutta Gupta and Suresh Sadda defeated Subhash Kalita and Bulbul Das (8-5).Gentlemen’s Veteran doubles (Above 55 Years): Diganta Thakur and Nabarun Saikia defeated Partha Dowarah and Raktim Phukan (9-3).
