Vehicles collide, catch fire in Jhanji

GAURISAGAR, February 18: A devastating fire broke out in Jhanji on Tuesday night after two vehicles collided with each other on NH-37  near the Jhanji fuel pump. According to reports, a Mahindra pick-up van coming from Sivasagar suddenly collided head-on with a Sivasagar- bound truck bearing registration no AS-03-4106 loaded with plywood. After the collision, the two vehicles caught fire. The Gaurisagar and Amguri police rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. Four fire tenders from Amguri, Teok and Sivasagar filly maged to douse the flames after two hours.
