Vendor Development Programme on National SC-ST Hub Scheme held

DHUBRI: The third Vendor Development Programme under ‘National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) Scheme’ was organized by the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (ASIDC), nodal agency for implementation of the NSSH in Assam, in association with North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi) Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Azara near Guwahati on Wednesday.

The programme was organized with the support of PHD Chamber of Commerce in accordance with the NSSH Scheme, which is an initiative of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) targeted towards developing a supportive ecosystem for SC/ST entrepreneurs. It was attended by around 80 entrepreneurs from Rani and Azara. Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Guwahati, SK Das graced the programme as chief guest and spoke on the Public Procurement Policy of the Ministry of MSME. He urged the SC/ST entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunity under the NSSH Scheme and explained to the micro entrepreneurs and artisans how to compete with the modern industries and improve the quality of their products, marketing and advertising.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy General Manager, NEDFi, Manoj Kumar Das said that the vendor development programme would provide professional support to entrepreneurs to fulfil the obligations under the Central Government Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Entrepreneurs as part of Stand-Up India initiative. Deputy Resident Director, NER, PHDCCI, SK Hazarika urged the participants to come forward and take full advantage of such vendor development programmes. He also urged the CPSEs to help the entrepreneurs with their procurement policies.
