Village Rockstars director and artiste arrive home

Boko, April 23: Village Rockstars, directed by Rima Das from Chaygaon and produced by Flying River, grabbed the Best Feature Film Swarna Kamal in the 65th National Film Awards which were declared recently. After 30 years Assam has received this award. Thirty years ago the Jahnu Barua-directed film Halodhiya Soraiye Baw Dhan Khai also clinched the same award. Also, Rima Das received the Best Director award, Bhanita Das (Dhunu) won the Best Child Artiste award and Malika Das won the Best Audiographer award.
After arriving at the airport, a huge bike and car rally escorted Rima Das to her home town Chaygaon along with Bhanita Das and Mallika Das. At Chaygaon M V School, four sub-committees of AASU felicitated all of them along with Assamese gamosa, xarai and flowers. Chaygaon ARSU (All Rabha Students’ Union) also felicitated them with traditional muffler and Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed also felicitated them with Assamese gamosa, mekhala chador and gold coin.
