Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to hold awareness meets on Ram temple in Assam

GUWAHATI: The awareness programme on the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya – through the enactment of an Act or Ordinance – has reached Assam in the form of a series of meetings in the State by the VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad).

The awareness programme is being carried out in other parts of the country in full swing.

Talking to the media in Guwahati on Sunday, VHP’s Uttar Asom Prant president Dr. Munindra Mohan Deka said: “On October 5 this year a meeting of sadhus and sants was held in New Delhi on the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The religious mentors appealed to the government at the Centre to pave the way for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya by enacting laws. The public awareness meetings going to be held in Assam are part of the decision taken at the October 5 meeting in Delhi. Since the issue of Ram Temple in Ayodhya is sub-judice, the VHP wants the government at the Centre to enact a law or issue an Ordinance for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. The dignity and trust of the Hindus of the nation are attached to construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.”

Giving details of the awareness meetings, Deka said: “Public meetings will be held in various places in the State. On November 21 a meeting will be held in Nalbari, in Tinsukia on November 22, on November 23 in Dibrugarh, November 15 in Guwahati, in Nagaon and Lumding on November 29, at Udalguri on December 1, at Malgaldai and Dhubri on December 2, at Bongaigain on December 3 and in Korajhar on December 4. From December 18-26, awareness meetings will be held in every xatra, naamghar, math and mandir, Gurudwara etc in the State.”
