Visit schools regularly, Sarma tells officers

GUWAHATI, June 16: State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked the education officers to regularly visit the schools of the state to take stock of the educatiol scerio of the schools. Sarma asked the officers in a review meeting of the Elementary Education in SSA Mission office at Kahilipara in Guwahati recently.

Divisiol elementary education officials and the sub-inspectors of schools of various districts of the State were present at the meeting that was presided over by Elementary Education Commissioner-Secretary Pritam Saikia. Elementary Education Director Sanjib Kumar Bhuyan, SSA Mission Director Thaneswar Malakar and other officials were also present at the meeting.

]The meeting issued a directive to the department to pay salaries to the employees of the department by the 7the instant of every month and speeding up the disposal of applications relating to pension, leave and appointment on compassiol ground.

The meeting also asked all in the department to extend their cooperation to the HR-MIS work currently underway in the State. They were also asked to keep in touch with school maging committees for smooth continuation of mid-day meal. The meeting also asked the education officers to plant saplings in schools that have enough land. The Commissioner-Secretary asked all to remain alert so as to prevent corruption from taking place.

In accordance with the directive of the minister, district elementary education officers will meet again on June 15.
