Votes sought for Rising Star contestant Nikita Boro

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 21: Nikita Boro of Guwahati, the top runner in the first round of Rising Star reality show, visited Kokrajhar on Sunday along with her parents and sought votes for her. Boro, who hails from Longkeswar-Kailashpur, got highest points in the first round in the singing competition.

Boro and her family members, along with activists of artistes’ association, approached different student and cultural organizations in Kokrajhar seeking votes for her. The president of All Bodo Artistes’ Association (ABAA) Bikash Basumatary, general secretary of ABSU Lawrence Islary, general secretary of Dularai Boro Harimu Afat (DBHA), Jogeswar Brahma and secretary of Kokrajhar district BSU, Kwrwmdao Brahma assured that they would take necessary steps to appeal to the general masses to vote for Nikita Boro. They wished her all the best and appealed to the people of the region, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, to vote for Nikita Boro.

Mother of Nikita, Jaki Boro said one can vote for Nikita by downloading the Colors TV app. The vote can be sent only when Nikita is singing in the show. Nikita was felicitated in the silver jubilee celebration of friendship organized by the students of 1991-92 batch (Science stream) of Kokrajhar College on Sunday at Gaurang Park, Kokrajhar with traditiol aroi.
