TINSUKIA, April 19: A storm is brewing in the Tinsukia Municipal Board, which was recently formed by Congress, with a newly elected Ward Commissioner resigned from the Congress party today. Ward Commissioner gendra Singh , who was elected from ward no 6 in the recently concluded civic body polls, deserted the Congress expressing displeasure over the party leadership in Tinsukia. It may be mentioned that Dipti Das and Ratan Sil, both from Congress won the posts of the chairperson and vice-chairman respectively by 9 to 8 votes out of 15 members and two ex-officio members of the Tinsukia Municipal Board. Sources said Singh was dejected with the Congress leadership after his demand for the post of vice-chairman of the Municipal Board was rejected.
