Tamulpur: “We should learn a lesson from the incident at Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir. We do not want Assam to become the second Kashmir. According to the population pattern, Assam is going to become the land of moulabadi within a very short time. So we must be conscious,” said State Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at Tamulpur on Friday in the house of martyr Maneswar Basumatary at Kalbari village under Baksa district.

Talking to media persons, Sarma said that illegally migrated Rohingyas and the anti-national activities of jihadis were also creating problems and they were being supported by some people of Assam. Criticizing the Congress, Sarma expressed his resentment and said that some MLAs supported settlement of Rohingya Muslims and some fundamentalist organizations were extending a helping hand in this.

“In this critical time we must think about how to stop illegal migration,” he said. According to him, after Kashmir, Assam, Kerala and West Bengal would become the land of moulabadi. He said that Assam Police and intelligence branches must be more active to stop incidents like that in Pulwama. On Friday, the Finance Minister arrived Tamulpur by helicopter which landed at Tamulpur Army Field and he went to the house of martyr Maneswar Basumatary house along with Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, BTC EM Deben Boro, DC of Baksa, Bhaskar Pegu, SP of Baksa, Pratik Bijoy Kr. Tebu, and SDO of Tamulpur, Sujit Kr. Baglary.

Arriving at the house of the martyr, he paid floral tribute to him and then met his family members. Sarma said that the government was taking necessary action for the family so that they do not have to suffer in any way. He also met the villagers and discussed about the adya shraddha of the martyr. He also visited the field where the cremation was done.
