West Siang Deputy Commissioner gets tough on absentees

AALO, July 10: A consultative meeting under the chairmanship of West Siang district Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan to sort out absenteeism, late arrival at office and to ensure a people-friendly governance as per the directives of state government was held at Conference Hall of the DC office on Tuesday here. DC Swetika Sachan insisted on regular checking of the attendance register by the heads of offices and disclosed that flying squads consisting of administrative officers will visit various offices twice a week to take stock of punctuality of the officers and staff.

“There are few reports coming from various corners on untimely closures of offices without intimation by the head of offices causing inconveniences to the people,” she disclosed.

In order to bring administration to the doorsteps of the people and ensuring a people-friendly governance, mobile office and Jan Sunwai will be conducted on every first Monday of the month at District Keba Hall, she informed. In the meantime, all the heads of offices have been instructed to bring issues that require hearing and awareness and that such Jan Sunwai will be kicked off from the remotest circle soon.
