Itagar, April 28: Setting examples for others to emulate, one Riya Mindu along with Riya Tachang and Riya Tabam of Nyolo village under Koloriang subdivision in remote Kurung Kumey district rescued two wild dog (Cuon alpinus) pups listed under scheduled – II of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. They rescued the animals from Tago area of Yachuli sub-division in Lower Subansiri district and later handed over to Itagar Zoo curator and veteriry officer for further rehabilitation. Extending its gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the environment and forests department for their noble gesture, curator Raya Falgo has appealed everyone to stop hunting and buying wildlife and their parts, a press release informed.
