“We have one and a half group to be handled,” stated the Meghalaya Director General of Police Rajeev Mehta in sarcastic terms in an exclusive talk with The Sentinel without referring to the GNLA and another running miniscule group involved in kidpping and extortions. “Our overall initiation is in place to ensure that they abandon the path of violence and join the mainstream,” stated Mehta, adding, “The overall strategies will be pursuit to what we have achieved.”  He said that the State police will never lay back after the recent success.

The police are set to use the new set of tricks to bring peace in the strife torn five districts of Garo Hills.

The DGP categorically said that the desigted officials will up the ante in operatiol and tactical activities to force them to surrender.

Mehta also said that that government policy in terms of talks and dialogues has nothing to do with the mandate given to the force.
