Witch-hunting: 1 die

BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 9: In yet another case of witch hunting, one Khelan Chengnar (65) was allegedly stabbed to death by a section of villagers at No 1 Kherbari village along the Assam-Arunachal border under Biswanath Chariali PS in Biswanath district on Saturday. The villagers had accused him of practicing black magic at the instigation of the village priest Samir Teron. However, Chengnar’s relatives managed to escape unhurt. Police have apprehended Samir and nine others.
