Woman allegedly murdered by Husband in Naharkatia, Accused Arrested

Naharkatia: In a shocking incident, a woman was brutally murdered by her husband in Naharkatia on last Thursday.

As per reports, the incident took place in Kukura Puhiya village under Sasoni Police Outpost in Naharkatia area.

Sources informed that the body of the deceased woman was recovered on Thursday evening, following the incident, a case was lodged by the victim's family members at Sasoni Police Station on Friday.

Reports also state that the family members of the accused husband identified as Hemanta Gogoi reported his Ankita (name changed) was missing. Countering the matter, the family members of the deceased woman claimed it to be pre-planned murder.

Meanwhile, Police arrested the accused Husband and three others. Further investigation is under process. Police had produced the accused in court today.

The dead body of the deceased was forward to Dibrugarh Medical for Post Mortem.

A case was registered (Case No 89/19) under section 302/201 of the Indian Penal Code.
