Woman police Sub-Inspector arrested

GUWAHATI, JULY 15: Woman police sub-inspector Premlata Saikia has been arrested by Khetri Police in association with Noonmati Police. She has been charged with cheating a woman from the Six Mile area of procuring land at the Khetri area for the woman and has allegedly took Rs 10.50 lakh way back in 2016. Since then the woman sub-inspector has been avoiding the woman from Six Mile and did not respond to phone calls. While a case has been filed at Khetri Ps against the police SI, following the arrest, SI Premlata Saikia is in police custody in Panbajar PS in connection with with Khetri PS case no 27/16 u/s420/406/506 IPC. She will be produced before the court on Monday. Premalata Saikia was transferred from Guwahati to Nalbari DEF six months ago but she did not join at Nalbari. She is allegedly invovled in a number of cheating cases.
