Woman's Dead Body Recovered by Sivasagar Police

JOYSAGAR: The body of a woman was recovered by Sivasagar Police from Khijnoor Ali road of the town on Wednesday. Minu Kalita (40) was found dead by her neighbours on Wednesday evening. Police recovered the body in presence of the Sivasagar executive magistrate. Minu Kalita was the wife of Hiten Kalita, a Sivasagar Water Resources Department employee, and was living in the government quarters in Khijnoor Ali road. Police suspect it to be murder and have sent the body for post-mortem to Joysagar Civil Hospital. A case has been registered in this connection in Sivasagar Sadar PS and police have started investigation. Sources also informed that Hiten Kalita was absconding.
