Work for development of people, areas: Engti

HOWRAGHAT, April 5: The Congress has been organizing membership drive in different places of Karbi Anglong under the initiative of HAD Minister Kharsing Engti.

While addressing a mass joining meeting held at Howraghat town on Sunday, Kharsing Engti asked all Congress workers to work for the development of people and areas.

Claiming all-round development in the State as well as in Karbi Anglong during Congress tenure, Engti reminded people about the past anti-people rule of ASDC-CPI (ML). While talking about the comprehensive steps taken up in the education sector in Howraghat, he said that other than arts and science, he had asked the KAAC to introduce commerce stream immediately in Higher Secondary schools and colleges. Engti urged all sections of people to support the Congress for good governce.

Local MAC and Social Welfare EM, KAAC, Premala Beypi and Ashok Teron, EM, KAAC also addressed the meeting and warmly welcomed the BJP and HSDP renegade workers and supporters.

Around 79 BJP workers, including few workers of HSDP, joined the Congress in today’s meeting.
