Work in unison for state’s development: Acharya

Itagar, Jan 30: Aruchal Pradesh Governor P B Acharya exhorted the political parties in the state to work in unison for the development of the state and the country. “We are a strategic border state and we have to be united and work for the state’s development,” the governor said during a meeting with representatives of major political parties of the state including BJP, PPA and Congress who called on him at Raj Bhawan here on Sunday, an official report informed here today.

The governor advised the political representatives to work for overall development of the state and exhorted them to reach out to people in every corner of the state and ensure that fruits of development process percolate down to the people. “For a successful and vibrant democracy both the ruling and opposition parties play an important role. All should work for the development of the state. The ruling party should not hamper the development of opposite party MLAs’ constituencies. This is against the principle of matured democracy,” Acharya said.

The BJP delegates were led by party’s state unit president Tapir Gao, while the PPA was led by Kameng Dolo and Congress by former chief minister bam Tuki, the report added. The governor during the day also visited the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum, here. Impressed by the arrangement in the museum, Acharya said that it is very educative, informative and well kept. The governor observed that in the month of December last year, only 600 visitors were there. “We should motivate our young people, particularly students to visit the museum to feel spirit of unity in diversity. Unity in diversity is the peculiarity of our Motherland-India. Aruchal Pradesh is a living example of this,” he said.
