Workshop On ‘Climate Change Adaptation’ In Pasighat

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Conservator of Forests Gulab Singh inaugurated the three-day workshop on ‘Climate Change Adaptation’ (CCA) for the District Level Officers (DLO) from various Line Departments and Training of Trainers for Institute Professors, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the College of Horticulture & Forestry, Pasighat on Wednesday. The workshop is organized by the State Climate Change Cell (SCCC). The workshop is conducted under the National Mission on Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE) with support from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to identify the vulnerable sectors of climate change.

Accordingly, during the workshop, the trainees will be trained in making risk assessment for preparing action plan and in making convergence efforts for preparation of DPR on basis of priority sectors as per problem analysis. Dean of College of Horticulture, Prof BN Hazarika and Deputy Director (Environment) & In-charge of SCCC, Dohu Robin also spoke on the occasion. The workshop was attended by the officers from Line Departments like Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Vet, Horticulture, Soil & Water Conservation, Forests & Environment, Professors and Teachers from JNU Pasighat and Central Agriculture University (CAU) Pasighat.
