Workshop on first aid held by Indian Red Cross Society

BILASIPARA: Under the aegis of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Bilasipara district branch, a workshop on first aid was held in the premises of Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhavan with a three-day programme recently.

Altogether 48 volunteers participated in the workshop and underwent the training on first aid. Dr. Kanu Lal Das, chairman of IRCS, Bilasipara district branch conducted the workshop with practical demonstration. Trained volunteers of Red Cross Society like Charles Choudhury, Samim Mollah, Bapan Sarma and Azizur Rahman gave practical demonstration. Audio-visual films were also exhibited in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Sarfaraj Hoque, Circle Officer of Bilasipara.

Ashok Kumar Singhi, MLA of Bilasipara East LAC, attended the valedictory function of the workshop as chief guest. The MLA assured to complete the half-done maternity hospital of Red Cross Society within six months.
