World No Tobacco Day celebrated

Tezpur, June 1: World No Tobacco day was observed on Thursday here at the premises of District Library including other parts of Tezpur in Sonitpur district under the aegis of District Tobacco Control Cell, Sonitpur in association with District Legal Services Authority, Tezpur. The theme for World No Tobacco Day was tobacco and heart diseases. The programme was attended by ADC, Sonitpur, Kishan Kumar Sarmah, Mridu Chanda Bordoloi, Secretary of District Legal Service Authority, Tezpur including Dr S P Bordoloi, Dr Durlav Chandra Saikia, Dr Krishna Sarmah, President Tezpur Mahila Samiti among others. While inaugurating the programme, Kishan Kumar Sarmah said, “Every individual should contribute in making a sustainable, tobacco free society.”
