World No Tobacco day observed - 3 Jun, 2017

Tezpur, June 2: "World No Tobacco day observed recently here at the premises of Darrang College including other parts of Tezpur in Sonitpur District under the aegis of District Legal Service Authority, Tezpur in association with frontline NGO Helping-Hand.

The awareness programme was attended by Audri Bhattacharya, Secretary of District Legal Service Authority, Tezpur including Principal of Darrang College, yan Goswami, President of Helping-Hand NGO, Dip Kumar Kalita, Travel Writer and Jourlist among others.

While iugurating the programme, Audri Bhattacharya, Secretary of District Legal Service Authority, Tezpur said that " every individual should contribute making a sustaible,  tobacco free society, either by committing to never taking up tobacco or by quitting the habit, adding further said that it should be our moral duty to contribute in the mission as all section will benefit from successfully controlling the tobacco epidemic, above all by protecting our society from the harms of tobacco use and reducing its economic toll on tiol economics.

Earlier, attending the programme as a special invitee, Dip Kumar Kalita, Travel Writer and Jourlist summated that it is necessary to discover why we become addicted to tobacco, because we don't love ourselves.  When we start loving our lives and health, all these habits or addictions will definitely set aside.

On the other hand, District Tobacco control cell, Sonitpur observed and to conducted awareness meeting at school of Nursing Complex Tezpur while Presiding over the programme Dr. Durlov Ch. Saikia, District Nodal Officer, District Tobacco Control cell, Sonitpur, said that in spite of food value and harmful to the body 39% of 15 yrs aged group people are addicted with various kind tobacco product.

Kishan kumar Sarma, Additiol Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur while Flagging off An awareness Rally, said that the danger affect of tobacco in our body and request adolescent to avoid it.
