World Population Day observed

Namrup, July 13: The Naharani Block Public Health Centre in association with Naharkatia Community Health Centre observed World Population Day with a summer disease awareness session at Loghorikiner L.P. School, Naharkatia on Thursday. The said session was presided by Dr Jyoti Shyam, Dy Superintendent, Naharkatia CHC and Biswajit Baruah, SDM&HO remained as the resource person. Dr Baruah in his speech dwelt at length on several birth control measures and also added the need and importance of population control for the greater good of the nation. Besides, Mintu Sonowal, Multi Purpose Worker, Naharani Block PHC also articulated the factors pertaining to summer time disease along with the causes, signs and symptoms, prevention ,treatment and care. The programme was attended by more than 100 people including members of School Management Committee, Health workers and others.
