World Tuberculosis Day observed with a rally in Haflong

Haflong: To raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB, and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic, World Tuberculosis (TB) Day was observed at Haflong on Sunday.

The day’s programme started with a rally taken out from Haflong Civil Hospital to Sarkari Bagan. This was followed by a well-attended meeting at the ANM Training Centre, Civil Hospital Campus, Haflong where Dr Dipali Barman, Joint Director of Health Services, Dima Hasao, attended as chief guest and Dr Marina Changsan, Additional CM&HO, Dima Hasao attended as guest of honour. Welcoming the guests and participants, Dr Chongjaheng Changsan, District TB Officer, Dima Hasao, Haflong spoke about TB and importance of its treatment.
