Writers interact with literary talents of tea garden areas

JOYSAGAR, April 23: “Sah Gasar Maje Maje was an initiative to hold interactions with the literary workers and writers, poets, journalists and students of various tea garden areas of the State. They are often neglected by the mainstream literary organizations but they are talented and gifted and need a platform to showcase their talent,” said the secretary of the Asom Prakashan Parishad (APP), Promud Kalita while briefing about the objectives of the programme which was conducted by the APP in Borchila Tea Estate of Sivasagar district on Sunday.
In this programme, former general secretary of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), Basanta Kumar Goswami, Dineshwar Tasa, SK Tanti and other renowned poets and writers took part and interacted with the local literary talents and discussed about various trends of modern literature. Besides, about 20 tea tribe community poets recited their own compositions and 15 writers read out their literary works in the open session of the function. APP employee Debeshwar Bora and Borchila TE Manager Ashok Sarma also spoke on the occasion.
