‘Yoga Is A Practical System of Self-Culture’ Says Ranjit Kakati

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVS), Assam Agriculture University situated at Joyhing, North Lakhimpur observed the 5th International Yoga Day on Friday in a befitting manner with the participation of the students, teachers and employees of the institute.

The celebration of the event was coordinated by the NSS unit of LCVS wherein renowned yoga practitioner Ranjit Kakati took part as resource person.

The programme kicked off with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by LCVS Associate Dean Dr. Uma Ram Tamuli and Ranjit Kakati in the presence of Dr. S Khargharia, the DDSW of LCVS. In his inaugural speech, Dr Tamuli highlighted the importance of practicing yoga and urged the gathering to make yoga an integral part of their lives.

Resource person Ranjit Kakoti enlightened the house by delivering an elaborated speech on the genesis of yoga and urged upon the house to make yoga a profound way of life while conducting the whole yoga session. “Yoga is a practical system of self-culture. The practice of scientific methodology of yoga brings evenness to mind, dexterity in action and a happiness of bliss to the soul,” he stated.

Assistant Professor-cum-Programme Officer of NSS unit of LCVS, Dr. P Chabukdhora offered the vote of thanks while Assistant Professor Dr K Baruah anchored the entire programme.
