Youth Apprehended by Tangla Police on Charges of Raping A 19 Year Old Girl in Assam

TANGLA: In a suspected case of love affair turning soar, a 27 year old youth was apprehended by Tangla police on charges of raping a 19 year old girl on Thursday night. The victim girl filed an FIR alleging that the youth, identified as Jyoti Prasad Borah alias Prasad, a chauffeur by profession and a native of Shareng Chuburi village under Mangaldai PS in Darrang had developed an illicit love affair with a promise to marry her. The youth was apprehended vide Tangla PS case no. 122/18 under section 376 IPC. The youth however has denied the allegations. Meanwhile Tangla Police is waiting for the medical report of the victim girl and is investigating the matter. He was produced in the Udalguri district court on Friday.
