Dibrugarh, July 13: Shaken to the core by the two back-to-back heinous crimes on train, the members of All Assam Muslim Yuva Parishad (AAMYP), Dibrugarh District Committee, took to the streets on Friday to register their protest against the brutality. The members demanded that the criminals must be subjected to the harshest punitive measures.

Lambasting the poor state of security prevailing at many of the railway platforms in the State, the members slammed the Minister of Railways for Assam, Rajen Gohain for his supposed lax attitude to security concerns, and accordingly, set his effigy on fire. The members of AAMYP also demanded that proper and rightful compensation must be paid to the distraught families of the two victims. It is mention-worthy here that the criminals behind both the macabre acts – Bipin Kumar Pandey and Bejmohan Das alias Bikash Das – have already been nabbed by the police, and are being interrogated.
