Youth dies under mysterious circumstances

LAKHIMPUR, April 17: The mysterious death of a promising youth of Ward No. 8 in North Lakhimpur town has caused sensation across the district. The youth was identified as Priyanku Madhukalya alias Panchajanya (24), son of Ratul Goswami. As per report received, Panchajanya was left abandoned in front of the North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital on Monday evening with serious injuries. He breathed his last on the way to Guwahati for better medical treatment. He was working as a software engineer in a Guwahati-based company. Recently he came home to celebrate Rongali Bihu. His family alleged that the youth could not be treated in the ICU of NLCH due to lack of expert doctors. The family lodged an FIR at North Lakhimpur Police Station alleging that Panchajanya’s death was a planned murder as he sustained fatal injuries on his throat and right side of the face. Police sent the body for post mortem on Tuesday.
