YWCA meet held in Shillong on January 17 to 18

SHILLONG: The YWCA, Shillong hosted the 1st North-East Conference at YWCA ‘Fair Haven’ Bivar Road, Shillong from January 17 to 18.

The theme of this conference was “Women Against Violence”.

Numbers of delegates from every association in the North-east region like Guwahati, Aizawl, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Lunglei, Tezpur, Chabua, Saiha, Champhai, Jorhat, Dimapur-3 and YWCA of Shillong attended the conference. Vinodhini Moses, National general secretary, YWCA of India along with Kalpana David, assistant general secretary, YWCA also attended the conference.

Moses in her speech stressed the vision of YWCA which is ‘to empower women for justice’. She added that the mission is to reach out to the marginalized group of people.

The conference was a successful one in which all participants shared and presented their activities conducted in their own States.
