Itanagar: After the detection of COVID-19 positive cases, several areas in the Itanagar Capital Region have been contained to prevent the further outbreak of the pathogen on Friday (September 25). An order to this effect was issued by Komkar Dulom, the Deputy Magistrate who also heads the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

The DM, in his order, stated that "more (COVID-19) cases are apprehended to be detected, and hence, urgently needed for containment.

The areas to be contained are as follows:

D Coy/E. Coy various areas Gate-I to Gate-II along with National Highway within the boundary of Dolikoto Village and DFO Colony in Banderdewa.

C-Sector near the Chief Secretary's Quarter and upper part of All Indian Radio, Satellite Colony, and near Shiv Mandir Colony, Itanagar.

Gandhi Market sector near the BSNL office and around surrounding areas in Itanagar.

C-Sector Nangkar building and the surrounding area in Itanagar.

C-Sector areas surrounding of the Yasso building and industry office in Itanagar.

The backside of the government higher secondary school and AAPSU office in the ESS sector in Itanagar.

Vivek Vihar, all areas behind the Arunodaya School in Itanagar.

In the coming days, no entry or exit in the locations or buildings without authorization, and the entry/exit points shall be barricaded and cordoned off by the police.

For the next 14 days, the inmates shall not move outside the locations/buildings.

Any violation shall be prosecuted as per section 51 (b) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and under section 188 of the IPC.

At least 283 more people, including 19 security personnel and four health care workers, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the northeastern state's tally to 8,416, an official said on Friday.

Of the fresh cases, 153 were reported from the Capital Complex region, Longding (26), Tirap (22), Papaumpare (21), Upper Subansiri (11), East Siang (10), and nine each from Changlang and Lower Subansiri districts.
