Admiral Lanba lauds culture of Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR: The Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Sunil Lanba called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig (Retd) BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on Friday.

Welcoming the State Guest, the Governor said that his visit to the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh reinforces the sense of security amongst the people. He expressed the hope that border security challenges of the State, particularly on the Northern Borders, will be taken care of by COSC.

Congratulating the young achievers, the Governor said that it was a great incentive to be facilitated by the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, who is the head of all service chiefs.

In his address, the COSC recalled his earlier visits and lauded the people of the State for their culture, simplicity and nationalism. He appreciated the Military-Civil synergy in the State. He assured that he would take up the issues of infrastructure development in the State with the Central Government, when he returns to the National Capital.

Earlier, Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee felicitated the achievers of the State, which included beauty pageant Chum Darang, author Gumlat Mayo, singer Chochung Dema Thungon, martial artist Dingjamso Tawsik, wildlife film maker Tallo Antony, singer Jelly Kaye, theater activist & actor Tai Tugung and entrepreneur Tage Rita Take.

First Lady of the State Neelam Misra, president Navy Wives Welfare Association Reena Lanba, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, Commissioner to the Governor M Surya Prakash, Naval Attaché to Chief of the Naval Staff Commodore Sanjay Bhalla and Commander 56 Div Brig AK Borah were present amongst others. Joint Secretary to the Governor Mamata Riba Nakksang anchored the felicitation function.
