ITANAGAR, Aug 1: Fearing that many persons whose names have not figured in the final draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) released on July 30 in Assam might sneak into the state, the All Arunachal Pradesh Student Union (AAPSU) has decided to launch operation to thwart possible infiltration of such immigrants into state.

A committee headed by Tatung Taga will be helping the concerned authority in assessing the situation and will conduct spot verification at all the entry and exit points in various districts and help in driving out those trying to take refuge in the state without valid documents.

Addressing a press conference, general secretary, AAPSU, Tobom Dai informed that the union is fully prepared to tackle the possible consequences of the NRC publication in Assam and warned those taking refuge without valid documents to leave the state within 15 days.

In this connection, Dai also appealed government to come out with strong anti-influx measures by constructing more check posts at Tezu, Pasighat, Banderdawa, Roing and such places.
