Animal Carcasses Seized by Forest officials at Hapoli in Lower Subansiri district

Itanagar: A patrolling team of Hapoli forest division officials led by Deputy Range Forest Officer Talo Dibo, seized 30 carcasses of wild animal and birds from a lady on Tuesday during checking from Abotani market shed at Hapoli in Lower Subansiri district.

The seizure was made under the provisions of Schedule IV of Wildlife (Protection) Act-1972, an official communiqué informed here on Wednesday.

The carcasses were seized from Bem Nayo of Charbia Village under Sangram in Kra Daadi district at around 11.30 AM. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Later, the carcasses were disposed off in presence of DFO Koj Rinya, senior veterinary officer Kime Gyati, Range Forest Officer Ngilyang Tachang and members of Arunachal Pradesh Birding Club.

Rinya informed that the division is carrying out such raids to curb the illegalities and further appealed to the local people to refrain from hunting and purchase of wildlife meat.
