Army Pays tribute to Bordumsa soldier Jowkhum Gam Khasa

BORDUMSA: The Army paid tribute to Jowkhum Gam Khasa, a soldier who died in a road accident on Sunday evening at Bordumsa in Changlang district after he was hit by a dumper truck along the Trans-Arunachal Highway.

Khasa, a resident of Dapkhu village in Bordumsa, serving in the Army, had been to his hometown on leave. “He was posted in Kashmir”, informed a local resident of Dapkhu village.

According to Army sources, the road victim – the son of a local Gaonbura Ligo Gam Khasa – was rushed to Bordumsa medical immediately after the mishap and latter succumbed to his injuries.

Ironically, the police is yet to identify the killer dumper. No arrest to this effect has been made till the filling of this the report. The deceased is survied by his wife and two daughters. The funeral would be conducted on Tuesday.

“We attended the victim, coordinated with the families and explored all possibilities to provide treatment but providence had a different choice”, lamented an Army official said.

Meanwhile, a grief stricken relative of the dead warrior said that the deceased along with a pillion rider was on Sunday evening heading towards Namsai along the highway when he was hit by a cargo loaded dumper coming from the opposite direction near Gidding Tri -junction.

The unexpected death of the young soldier has been widely condoled.

Local MLA Somlung Mossang, who is on an official assignment, conveyed deep condolence at the loss a country’s braveheart.
