Arunachal CM Pema Khandu celebrates Raksha Bandhan with children

ITANAGAR: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday celebrated Raksha Bandhan with school children from Vivekanada Kendriya Vidyalaya, Donyi Polo Vidya Niketan and members from Brahma Kumaris and Vidya Bhartia at his residence.

The children and other visiting members performed the rituals of Rakshabandhan, tied Rakhi on Khandu's wrist and exchanged sweets. The CM blessed them and wished them good, healthy and prosperous life. The Chief Minister also wished the people of Arunachal Pradesh on the auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan day.

Meanwhile the First Lady of Arunachal Pradesh, Neelam Mishra celebrated the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan with children of Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired, Chimpu, Itanagar. The inmates of the only residential school of the Arunachal Pradesh for differently abled children tied Rakhi (Thread of Bond and Protection) to the First Lady of the State and exchanged greetings.

Speaking on the occasion, Mishra said that Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion, where siblings pray for each others' well being and wish for each others' safety and happiness. She said that it is an occasion to rekindle our commitment towards the sanctity of relationship, responsibility, and humanism. She also urged upon the people to reinforce the endearing affection, oneness, and across the folds. The First Lady of the State also advised the students of the school to develop self-motivation and optimism and strive ceaselessly for a better tomorrow. Will to win, desire to succeed, dream to top, urge to excel should be their mission, she exhorted the children.
