ITANAGAR: At least 211 more persons, including 20 security personnel and a Healthcare worker, tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the State's total virus count to 7,250. Barring 27, the others are asymptomatic. All have been shifted to COVID Care Centres," said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 1,957 active coronavirus cases. Altogether 13 patients have succumbed to the infection so far.

Meanwhile, 140 people were discharged from hospitals on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 5,280. The recovery rate in the State stands at 72.82 per cent.

The Capital Complex region – comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas – reported the maximum number of 101 fresh cases followed by 19 from Changlang; 18 from Papumpare; 15 from West Siang; 13 from Longding; seven from East Siang; six each from Lower Dibang Valley, West Kameng and Lower Subansiri; four from East Kameng; three each from Pakke Kessang, Tirap and Namsai; two each from Upper Subansiri, Upper Siang and Lohit; and one from Kurung Kumey.

"Among the new patients were 20 security personnel — 12 from the Army, four from the State Police force, and two each from Indian Reserve Battalion and Assam Rifles.

"A total of 3,140 people, including 453 security personnel, have been diagnosed with the disease since September 1, while 2,386 people have been cured of it during this period. As many as 2,20,706 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, including 2,426 on Saturday," added Dr Jampa.
