Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission imposes fine on Papum Pare PIO

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Public Information Officer (PIO) cum District Panchayat Development Officer (DPDO) of Papum Pare district, J T Toko for deliberately defying the order of the Commission in connection with the appeal case made by appellant Teli Sahil seeking information which was in the public domain.

The PIO has been asked to deposit the penalty amounts in favour of the Registrar, APIC through a treasury challan on or before October 10, besides being directed to appear before the Commission on same date and time along with deposited copy of the treasury challan including the information as sought for by the appellant.
