Arunachal Pradesh re-granted  Petroleum Mining Lease (PML)with  signing of deed

Dibrugarh: The Arunachal Pradesh Government has been re-granted the Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) with the formal signing of PML deed of agreement on November 5 this year between OIL and Government of Arunachal Pradesh (GoAP). The PML deed was signed by Secretary, Geology and AMP, Disaster Management , GoAP, Bidol Tayeng and Resident Chief Executive, Oil India Limited in the presence of Chief Minister, Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, Chief Secretary, AP, Satya Gopal, Director General of Police, GoAP, SBK Singh, Director, Geology and Mining, Tasar Talar and other senior officials from GoAP and Oil India Ltd. The re-grant of Ningru PML which was pending since 2003 was re-granted on May 2018 with validity till November 26, 2023 for an area of 427.058 Sqkm as on May 4, 2018. OIL had received Petroleum Exploration Licences (PEL) grant for 952 Sqkm in November 1963 on nomination basis in Tirap and Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh. As a result of hydrocarbon indication in the first well Kumcahi-1 (drilled in September, 1977), PML (Petroleum Mining Lease) grant was received w.e.f. November 27, 1983 for 20 years from State Government of Arunachal Pradesh and subsequently, OIL drilled another 13 wells in Kumchai field during 1987 to 1993. Presently, Drilling is in progress at Kumchai-15 (Loc KUAR) from October 12, 2018. Another seven exploratory locations and five development locations have been identified for drilling
