Guwahati: A 43-year-old Covid-19 positive patient has died in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, June 24, becoming the first casualty in the state. The woman hailing from West Kameng was tested positive on Tuesday, June 23.

It has been reported that she was also suffering from chronic kidney disease. She was planning for kidney surgery transplant at Delhi but due to the ongoing pandemic, situation the procedure could not be done, and she returned back to the state on June 11.

As per an official report, she was kept in facility quarantine at Dirang, West Kameng district on June 11. The woman's first sample was taken on June 15 at Dirang, where the report was inconclusive.

Later, she was referred to Tawang district hospital for dialysis and her repeat sample was taken on June 20 and was reported positive on 23 June.

On the same day, she was referred to TRIHMS for further management, as her condition continued to deteriorate. The woman breathed her last near Shergaon during transfer by ambulance on Wednesday, June 24.
